All roads lead to Munich – whether arriving by plane, train or bus

As tricky as the ideal accommodation, the trip to Munich can be. Every year over 6 million people are swarming to the world’s biggest funfair. Most visitors arrive by plane or train, but as well bus tours become increasingly popular.

By plane

Airlines and travel agencies try to manage the increased demand by expanding their offers and upgrading their transport capacity. Luckily the Munich airport named “Franz Josef Strauß” is one of the biggest aviation hubs in Europe, so they can handle the crowds at this major event easily, too.

By bus

Also many travel agencies all over Europe offer bus rides to the Oktoberfest at an affordable price, which therefore can be sold out rapidly. Because of the strong competition, most agencies additionally offer various features, i.e. Flixbus. They are not only convincing with their comfortable furniture but also by providing W-LAN during your ride, so you can easily plan your tour through Munich whilst travelling.

By train

For those who prefer a relaxing ride, the train might be the best variant. Due to the excellent integration of the Munich central station in the city and the short distance to the Oktoberfest, many visitors choose the train.

No matter how you decide: the early bird catches the worm!
